The Columbus Coalition
Against Family Violence respects your concern about privacy, and we will
strive to protect it at www.thecolumbuscoalition.org.
This privacy policy will tell you how we protect your personal information,
and about what choices you have concerning our use of such information.
Please read this policy carefully. We may need to change this policy from
time to time in order to address new issues and reflect changes on our
site. We will post changes here so that you will always know what information
we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose
that information to anyone. Please refer back to this policy regularly.
Acceptance of Privacy Policy
By using the Coalition site, you signify your acceptance of our Privacy
Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our site.
Your continued use of the Coalition site following the posting of changes
to these terms will mean that you accept these changes.
Online Information Gathering
Types of information collected by this site: Information collected online
is often defined as being either anonymous or personally identifiable:
 |
Anonymous
information cannot be tied back to a specific individual.
|
 |
Personally
identifiable information lets us know the specifics of who you are
such as your name, e-mail address, or postal address.
|
The choice of how
much of your personally identifiable information that you choose to disclose
to the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence is left completely up
to you.
The only way we know something about you personally is if you voluntarily
provide us with your personal information, such as when you transact business
at our site, or communicate on the site by sending us an e-mail, or contribute
to our list services, or post to any discussion board or other forum.
Collection of IP addresses: When visiting any Internet
site your unique address called an "IP address" is recorded.
The Coalition does not release any information about the collection of
this address to any third party except under court order. The Coalition
archives the log files in order to create aggregate statistical reports,
detect errors at the web site, and for security reasons. The log files
are eventually deleted. Information collected from user orders or requests
is deleted after a few months.
Collection of personal information: On certain pages
on our site, such as in connection with any Coalition form, we give you
the option of providing us with names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers,
e-mail addresses, demographic, and other personal and financial information.
This more personal information is not gathered by us without your knowing
and active permission and participation.
Statistics
The Coalition's site generally stores no information about its visitors,
with the exceptions of basic logging for site stats (machine addresses,
not e-mail addresses), and information provided by users who fill out
our online forms. Under no circumstances does the Coalition compile "audit
trails" of which users are browsing what pages.
The Coalition does compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors
to our site and its subdirectories, the daily requests we receive for
particular files, and what server locations, including countries, those
requests come from. These aggregated statistics are used internally to
better provide services to the public and may also be provided to others,
but again, do not include personal information.
Non-disclosure
We will never intentionally disclose any personal information collected
from you on our site to any third party without having before, during
or afterwards received your permission. In other words, without such permission,
We will not sell, rent, loan or give personally identifiable user information
collected from you on our site to marketers or any other third parties.
The one exception is that, although unlikely, the Coalition may be required
by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable
information to the appropriate governmental authorities. In these cases,
we will provide this information as and to the extent we have determined
that the disclosure of any such information is appropriate.
Links
Users will find links to other sites or services on the Coalition site.
Although we initially visit the sites or services that are linked to Coalition's
Web site, we do not control the content or links that appear on these
sites. In addition, these sites or services, including their contents
and links, may be constantly changing. The fact that we have made these
links available to you is not an endorsement or recommendation to you
by the Coalition. We provide these links only as a convenience.
Other companies linked to this site may collect information about you
when you view or click on these sites. We cannot control this collection
of information. You should contact these content providers directly if
you have any questions about their use of the information they collect.
These sites and services may have their own privacy policies, or no policy
at all. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party
sites or services before providing any of them with your personal information.
Information requests
If you have provided us with any personal information during a prior visit
to or use of the Coalition site, you may request that we delete your personal
information in its entirety from the databases maintained in connection
with our site by sending us an e-mail.
Security
It is Coalition policy that personal information, such as your name, postal
and e-mail address or telephone number, is private and confidential. Accordingly,
the personal information you provide is stored in a secure location, is
accessible only by designated staff, and is used only for the purposes
for which you provide the information.
