FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 29, 2003 BREAKFAST BRIEFING ON FAMILY VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE, THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 8-9 a.m. Columbus Coalition Founder & Board Chair Abigail Wexner and Columbus Chamber CEO Sally Jackson Announcing Partnership (COLUMBUS) - Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence Founder and Board Chair Abigail S. Wexner and Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Sally A. Jackson are hosting a breakfast briefing for the Columbus business community to launch a partnership between the Coalition and the Chamber to address family violence in the workplace. More than 140 Chamber members and local entrepreneurs are slated to attend. The briefing will be held on Thursday, January 30 from 8-9 a.m. at the Westin Great Southern Hotel, 310 South High Street, in the Ballroom. In addition to remarks from Wexner and Jackson, attendees will learn about the costs of domestic violence in the workplace from a local human resources expert, and about the legal implications of this issue from a local attorney. The Coalition focuses its work on five touch points - where the victim and societal institutions intersect - with task forces working to create systemic change. These task forces are: Business Community/Public Education, Faith Community, Health Care, Legal System and Victim Services. Founded in 1998, The Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence is comprised of leaders from businesses and organizations in Central Ohio committed to reforming our systems to stop the cycle of violence in our community.
