FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE contact: 614-221-2885, Kathleen Murphy x16 614-221-2885, Stephanie Tresso x15 614-722-5985, Karen Days Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence Names Task Force Director (COLUMBUS) - Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence President Karen S. Days today announced a new staff appointment. Sheryl E. Clinger has been named Task Force Director. She will work with the Business Community Task Force, implementing its various initiatives, including the family violence in the workplace initiative for local employers. Clinger earned a bachelor's of science degree in Business Education from Bowling Green State University and has completed the Leadership, Education and Development Program (LEAD) at The Ohio State University. She previously worked at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as a management analyst and training coordinator; as well as a training coordinator with Pilkington Auto Glass Replacement Division and a coordinator for the Eastland Vocation School District. (HOME ZIP IS 43209) "Sheryl's 15 years of experience in training will help the Coalition, particularly as we continue to work with employers to help them develop and implement workplace family violence prevention programs," said Days. "With 75% of employed victims harassed by their abuser at work, it is so important for employers to know how to respond appropriately to victims in the workplace. Our trainings do just that." The Coalition focuses its work on five touch points - where the victim and societal institutions intersect - with task forces working to create systemic change. These task forces are: Business Community/Public Education, Faith Community, Health Care, Legal System and Victim Services. Founded in 1998, the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence is comprised of leaders from businesses and organizations in Central Ohio committed to reforming our systems to stop the cycle of violence in our community.
