WORTHINGTON COMMUNITY GOLF OUTING BENEFITS COLUMBUS COALITION AGAINST FAMILY VIOLENCE, UNITED METHODIST CHILDREN'S HOME

Second annual event May 23 - Hole-in-One Contest for 2005 Dodge Stratus

(COLUMBUS) - Tee off to help children and families in our community at the second annual Worthington Community Golf Outing. The golf outing is slated for Monday, May 23 at York Golf Club, 7459 North High Street. The day begins with registration at 11 a.m., a shotgun start at noon, and continues after golf with dinner and a silent auction.

Worthington resident and retired management and fundraising consultant Saul Seigel will be on the links with golfers and the keynote speaker at the dinner. Seigel volunteers with and serves on the board of several local and national non-profit organizations, including Central Ohio Diabetes Association, Columbus Children's Theatre, Campus Partners, the Burkhart Mural Restoration Committee and the Worthington Sesquicentennial Committee, among others.

New this year is a Hole-in-One contest courtesy of Carriage Town Chrysler Plymouth. Any participant who hits a hole in one at the outing wins a 2005 Dodge Stratus.

The golf outing benefits the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence and the United Methodist Children's Home. The cost for the whole day is $150 a person, and includes 18 holes of golf, a cookout lunch, cash bar reception, dinner and entry to the silent auction. Guests may attend the dinner only for $50 a person. To register for the golf outing or dinner, contact event organizer Edward Johnston at 614-310-1980.

"We encourage everyone to come out to enjoy a day on the links while supporting organizations in our community that help families and children," said Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence President Karen S. Days.

Founded in 1998 by Abigail S. Wexner, the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence is comprised of leaders from businesses and organizations in Central Ohio committed to reforming our systems to stop the cycle of violence in our community.
